Sowing & growing
Sow under glass Mar-May in pots of good quality seed compost. Sow 10mm deep and germination should take 1-2 weeks at 18-20°C. Once germinated, pot on and acclimatise before planting out with 60cm spacing, once risk of frost has passed. Alternatively, sow directly late-May-Jun. Protect young seedlings with cloches on cold nights.
Aftercare
Feed and water well throughout – apply a mulch around the plants of grass cuttings to help retain moisture and keep weeds at bay.
