Sowing & growing

Sow inside Mar-May in individual pots of good quality seed compost. Sow the seeds on their side 12-15mm deep to prevent rot. Germination requires 18-20°C. Once seedlings appear with true leaves, pot on and acclimatise before planting out with once risk of frost has passed. Alternatively, sow directly outside late-May-Jun.

Aftercare

Feed and water well during the growing season – ideally apply a mulch around the plants to help retain moisture and keep weeds at bay.
